The annual 'tournament'of : the Dominion Bowling Association ..was .-, continued on Saturday in fine: weather. The final of the full rink-match was played, and the pairs championship was also brought to a finality. Parsons, 16.—Parsons appeared'to have this game won, for at the 'eleventh'head'be was leading 16-11," but Lambie scored eight on the remaining four heads, and won by a margin, of three points. . ■ . Smellie, 16, v. Webb, 10.—The Dunedin pair made no race of this game. The score was 11 to 1 in Smellie s favour at the seventh head. . , M'lndoe, 15, v. Hardie Neill, 14.-This was a well fought-out game. Neill scored five points on the first three-heads, but M'lndoe made mattery even on the next two. He drew ahead, but Neill started scoring again, and led 14—11 at the thirteenth head. A three to M'lndoe on the next head made the game 14 all and one. head to play. M'lndoe got a single put of this, and won an exciting game. M'Laren, 14. v. Lamb, 8.-At the eighth head the game was 5 all, but M Laren finished' best, and won a well-contested game. THE SEMI-FINALS. M'lndoe, 15, v. M'Laren, JS,—M'lndoj -monopolised the scoring during the -first, six heads, and 11-0.-- M'Laren picked up seven points in three heads, and then a,two to M'lndoe made the game 13—7 in his-favour. Another run of 'scoring to'M'Laren made the game 13 all and one head to play. .M'lndoe got- two out of the last head, .and was thus entitled to play, in the. final. . ■ ' , . Smellie; 15, v. Lambie, 13.-The game 'opened in Smellie's.favour,, bat was all square at the.third head. From this to the ninth- head Smellie almost monopolised the scoring, which was then 14—3 in his favour. Lambie,- however, made a great recovery, and scored on five of the remaining six heads. He was' 6ix down at the last head, and getting four out of it was.only beaten'by two points. Smellie had won his. way into the final. . ■
■'.'" THE FINAL. . >, Tho final was won by the Green Island team (Blackwood and Smellie), 24, v. Otahuhu (J. M'lvor and J, M'lndoe), 15. ' The opening stages of this -game attracted mora attention than the full rink ohampionship on tho adjoining rink.. The play was of a particularly high order, the leads and skips of both teams drawing brilliantly. The score at the eleventh head_was 8-7 in M'lndoe's favour. The next head was the turning point in-the game. - Smellie was lying three ; when i M'lndoe trailed the jack. It was an' unlucky shot, for it increased Smellie's three to five. The southerner then had a run of 1, 1, 4, 3, and led 21-8 at the. ■ sixteenth head.,. form, and scored two singles) a' two'an'3 a three, on the remaining heads to Smellie's three. The Green Island team thoroughly rdeserved their'win, for they played consistently good games, while the losing'skip, after playing, brilliantly during the first half of" the game, losthis ■ form for a- few heads. ■;. In the contest for-third place, Dunedin (Gregory and .M'Laren),' 22, beat'Pihama (Pohe and Lambie). 12. Lambie-got one out-of the first head, two out' of the third, and three'out of the fourth; and led M'Laren then; ha'd a run of 1,:1, 3,' 2, 2, and led 14—6 at the eleventh head; M'Laren continued to have the best of the; scoring, and-getting-three, out of the nineteenth head _the game was brought to a close. ■ " '
FULL RINK CHAMPIONSHIP. The full rink championship final between Nash, of Palmerston North, and Hill, of Te Hiwi,. provided a spirited contest which was closely contested-right up. to the twenty-first' head. After the players had got the strength of the green they allplayed up to ohampionship form; Tho'first few heads'saw Low scoring only, a single coming from each of the first six heads; ■ At the tenth hea'd the score was B—4 in Hill's favour, and at the twelfth 9—5 in his favour. The thirteenth head saw Nash's, luck ohange, and he got a four from it, and the teams became all square. The game was again all .square at the fifteenth head, but at the eighteenth Nash got three, and led 14—13. He monopolised the scoring to the end of the game. The teams-and scores were:— Palmerston North (H. N. Nash, E. ShepDixon, F. s J. Taßker, J. A. Nash), 20. Te Hiwi (BaskiviUe,'Fowler,'H. W. Frost, E. J. Hill), 13. V In the contest for third place, Dominion Road (West, Gordon, Findlay, Moir), 22, defeated' Karangahake (IfLean, Mor--rison, -Hilton, Jury), 20. Moir monopolised the scoring for the first two heads, his rqn being 1, 1, 1,-3, 3, and he then led 9—0.. \ At the fifth head_ Jury, however, started sensationally with a five; and, getting the best of the following leads, reduced Moir's lead until at the eleventh head the game was.only one in the Road skip's favour. 4 four to Moir was followed by 4, 2, to Jury, who led 16—15 at the fifteenth head. Moir got another run, .1, 3, 1, 1, and led 81—16. ' With three heads to go Jury got 3, 1, and was thus one down and one head to go. Moir got a single out of this, and had thus gained, third place in the phampionship,
