—: ——« iFrom Our Special Correspondent.) Yesterday morning, just before 11 o'clock, a fire occurred at the Anglican Boys' Home, Camp Road, Lower Hutt. Tho local brigade was quickly on the scene, but the outbreak had been checked before the brigade arrived. It is thought that some kindling wood lying on the rack above the kitchen range becoming ignited through contact with the firo underneath was responsible for the outbreak. Very little damage was done. The Petone Muncipal Band, under the leadership of Bandmaster Eades, rendered a programme of music on the local recreation ground yesterday. The collection realised £2 6s. 7Jd. The Petone Police are determined to put a stop to a practice that has been indulged in recently by some youths, which consists of playing cricket and other pastimes in certain streets on Sundays. Complaints have been made by Aurora Street residents of cricket balls having been hit on to their roofs, and in some instances boys have oven climbed on to housetops to dislodge a ball that had got jammed.
