CARPENTERS' CONFERENCE

'A' conference of delegates from the various branches of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners will open in Wellington on January 25. It is being held mainly for the purpose of considering amended rules which have,, been drafted. After consideration by the conference the rules relating to the trade section of tho society will be submitted to the whole of tho in New Zealand, and if a substantial majority vote favours tho rules they will be registered under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act.

A smoke concort will be held on the evening of January 25 to welcome the conference delegates. Delegates' have been 'elected as follows:—No. 1 District (Auckland), Mr. T.
