FIRMEN INJURED
. MOTOR SKIDS ON A BRIDGE. (By Telegraph,—Press 'i^sociatjon.) » Auokland, January 13. When-answering a call to Parnell to'day the Fire Brigade's latest motor ten. der skidded on' the wet surface of Grafton Bridge, and commenced a wild career, during which it bumped both right and left-hand »balustrades and hurled several firemen from their seats. The accident was caused by rain, the 'bridge's surface' being as slippery as glass. When the motor was finally checked it stood at right angles to the bridge and roadway: One fireman lay uncohscious-near the curbing, but most of the others had regained their feet. The injured firemen were taken to the hospital, but fortunately their' injuries are not serious. Warner received an ugly scalp wound, Fireman ; M ! Donald bruises and shock, and Fireman M'Kay was rendered unconscious by a blow on the head. The exact extent of the damage to the mptor is not jet known.
