AEDGARRY AT AUOKLAND. An arrival at Auckland from New York, via Panama Canal, at 5.35 p.m. yeßterday was the U.S. and A. Line's chartered steamer Ardgarry. After landing cargo at the northern port the 6teamer will como on to Wellington about January 16 or 17. EEMUERA DUE TO-DAY. An arrival in port from London, ria Hobart, this morning will be the New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Eemuera. After medical inspection nas been carried out in the stream the vessel will berth at the King's WhaTf to land passengers and discharge cargo. KAIAPOI BRINGS WHEAT. Carrying 50,000 bushels of wheat consigned to the New Zealand Government the Union Company's Kaiapoi left Sydney for tho Bluff yesterday. On inquiry at the local office of the company it was ascertained that the Kaiapoi would also make calls at Dunedin, Oamaru, Lyttel ton, and WeHington for purposes' of discharge. An unexpected arrival in port from San Francisco direct yesterday morning was the Union Company's big cargo carrier Waitemata. The vessel cleared the Oalifornian port on December 20, and was not due in port till to-day. During. the run across the Pacific the Waitemata averaged Hi knots per hour-a very creditable performance. The journey was uneventful, fine weather and smooth seas being experienced all the way. ARAWA TO LEAVE HOME. Advice has been received in Wellington stating that the Shaw-Savill liner Arawa (H.M.NXT. No. 10) will be dispatched from Liverpool on January 31 for Australian and New Zealand ports. She is duo at Wellington about April 1, and will sail for London during ' the same month. TAINUI LEAVES HOME. A cablegram has been received by tho local office of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, stating that R.M.S. Clouds of steam were to bo Jiecn, issuing from the Union Company's steamer Moi pourtka as she was coming up Wellington Harbour during the early hours of yesterday morning, inward bound from Westport. The accident had been caused through the bursting of a steam pipe. Repairs will be effected in time for the vessel to leave Wellington for New Plymouth and Westport to-day. At present the Anchor Line's steamer Alexander is undergoing overhaul and survey at Nelson. She will arrive at Wel- ' lington on Friday next for the purpose of being placed on the local Patent Slip. Continuing her journey from Greymouth i the Arahura left Westport for Nelson, Pic- - ton, and Wellington at 9 a.m.- yesterday. . En route to Wellington the Government ■ Bteamer Hinemoa arrived at New Plymouth from Onehunga at 4.5 a.m. and continued her journey at 3 p.m. yesterday. She will make a call at -The Brothers coming down the coast, and will arrive in port to-day. An expected arrival in port from Colcutla, via the south, to-day is the Union Oompany'e training eteamer Aparima. It was stated on the telegraph notice board at Wellington that the 0. and D. ■ liner Indrapura had left Wanganui for Wellington at 5.40 p.m. on Monday. This was incorrect, as the- vessel sailed for , Lyttelton to continue Homoward loading. Sho is due at Wellington to-morrow to nil up, and 'will be dispatched for London at tho end of this week. En route from Waitara to Napier the New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Somerset put in to Welling- • ton last evening for the purpose of pick- ' ing up a quantity of dairy produce transhipments. The liner is expected to continue her journey this evening.
