METHODISM

The quarterly meeting of the Taranaki Street Board of Managomont was held on Monday evening, the Rev. J. G. Chapman presiding over a representative attendance of members. The annual- accounts presented showed receipts to have been £1116 odd, and a balance of £29. The financial returns for the past quarter showed a slight deficit. Aro Street Mission showed a credit balance. Number of members reported was: Taranaki Street 448, junior 81; Brooklyn 62, junior 18; Aro Street Mission 32, junior 3.' Total, 542, junior 102. Amounts reported raised for foreign missions during the past year:'Taranaki Street, £117 lis. 3d.; Brooklyn, £8 14s. 10d. Total, £126 6s; Id., and for home missions, £95. These figures were considered very satisfactory in view of the many urgent and unexpected calls made during the year. There are.sls Sunday school scholars, 71 officers and teachers in the cirouit. Messrs. W. E. Redstone and tt. Chinchen were elected circuit stewards for the ensuing twelve, months. A special vote of thanks was accorded Mr. E. Kellow the retiring steward. Messrs. W. E. Redstone and W. Hodson, will represent- the circuit at the ensuing conference in Christchurcn, with the Rev. John White and G. Williams as substitute representatives.
