Arrived.—Kassa, barque (9 a..m.), from Hobart. REMUERA DUB TO-MORROW. Inquiry at the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company' yesterday elicited the information that B.M.S. Remuera is expected to arrive at Wellington from London at about 8 a.m. to-morrow. She will berth about an hour and a half after arrival. MOANA LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO. According to advice received from San Francisco R.M.S. Moana cleared that port for Wellington, via Papeete and Rarotonga, on January 9—three days late. Under ordinary circumstances the vessel should make Wellington on January 30. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. F. Bell, late chief officer of the Lauderdale, has joined, the Ennerdale in a •similar capacity. Mr. W. Harrington and Mr. 0. Goonquist have signed on the Lauderdale as second and third officers respectively. Mr. J. Appleton has joined the Ennerdale as second officer. Mr. L. Lane, late wireless operator- o;i the Wahine, has joined the Pateena in a similar capacity. Captain J. Watson has recommissiohed the Kamo at Wellington, and has -the following officers associated with him:—Mr. A. M'Kinley, chief officer; Mr. J. Paul, second officer; Mr. A. Watson, chief engineer; Mr. R. Graham, second engineer; and Mr. 0. Koyens, third engineer. Mr. R. Craig has signed on the Ennerdale as chief engineer, and Mr. F. Kilgour as second. Mr. C. Hales-Wost, third engineer of the Takapuna, had the misfortune to have. his hand crushed in the vessel's engineroom on Saturday. He came ashore at Wellington yesterday for treatment. Captain Dryden has been placed in command of the Taviuni, and has associated with him the Mlowing officers-.—Chief, Mr. F. L. G. Jaunay; second, Mr. E. J. M'Olellan. Mr. J. Gilbert is chief engineer and Mr. A. Johnson second. Mr. -A. S. Young, second engineer of the Kaitoa, has been succeeded by Mr. P. Buines. The A. and A. Line's chartered steamer El Oordobes is due at Wellington from Liverpool, via Auckland, on Saturday, January 16. A projected departure from WcHington for London to-day is the Shaw-Savill liner Largo Law. On account of having been delayed at Westport by bad weather, the Mapourika will not arrive at Wellington till early this morning. The Pateena called at Picton last evening, and will make another call at that placo en route to Wellington to-day. For the purpose of continuing Homeward loading, the Shaw-Savill steamer Waiwera left Auckland for Napier and Wellington last evening. She is due here on Friday next, and wiU take her departure for London at the beginning of next week. The Defender is expected to get away from Wellington for Picton and Hokitika at noon to-morrow. The Union Company's Takapuna, which arrived at Wellington from Gisborne and Napier on Sunday, will be laid up hero. Ser crew was paid off yesterday. Captain Bollons, of the Government steamer Hinemoa, has advised the Marine Department that his vessel left Manukau Heads for New Plymouth and Wellington at noon yesterday. The vessel is due at Wellington to-morrow. Although the Blackball Coal Oo.'b Ngahere vacated the Patent Slip on Saturday it was.found that she had to mount the cradle again yesterday. She came off during the afternoon, and the Union Company's Karori will bo placed on the slip for overhaul to-day. An expected arrival in port from Saa Francisco direct to-morrow is the Union Company's big cargo-carrier Waitemata. Her next ports of call will be Melbourne and Sydney. Captain G. G. Smith. Marine Superintendent at Wellington, received a.telegram from the captain ot the Russian ship Pampa asking :'f he could supply any sailor for the ship at £8 per month. The Pampa is at present at Lyttelton waiting for a crew to take her to Portland, Oregon. Bound for Picton, Auckland, and Eastem Pacific Islands, the Taviuni wiH get away from Wellington to-day. The Arahura arrived at Greymouth from Wellington, via way ports, at 9 a.m. yesterday, and left on the return, trip at 6 p.m. _ Leaving Waitara at daybreak this morning the Somerset should arrive at Wellington this evening. She will go on to Napier to-morrow, end will return hero on January 20, prior to taking her final departure for London. After having completed discharge of her Liverpool cargo at Australian ports the Now Zealand Shipping Company's Otoki will come across to New Zealand to load for Home. About 10 a.m. to-day the Union Company's intercolonial steamer Moeraki is due at Wellington from Sydney. After having been granted pratique in the stream the vessel will berth at the Queen's Wharf. Telegraphic advice received from Westport yesterday stated that the Maoriland Steamship Company's Lauderdale left thore for Newcastle at 3.25 p.m. The vessel had been laid up at Wellington during the holidays, and loft heTe for Westport for bunker coal on Saturday evening.
