Dannevirkc, report on their usual fortnightly sale, hold on Friday, as follows:— A fairly good yarding of sheep name forward, but our entries were limited to a few small pens of lambs. We had a good yarding of cattle, however, included jn which were some good lines of fifteen to eighteen-month and two-year off steers. The?e cattle were good o»alit.y ond in good order, and pold remarkably well, considering the continued dry weather and scarcity of feed, owing to hush fires. Other classes of cettle. however, were hard to sell at considerably reduced prices on late- market reports. We report as follows:—Sheep; Woolly rape lambs, fair. 9<>. 6d. Celtic! Any fat or forward sheep met with kooc! competition, but sheep in backward condition met with a very dragging sale. Pal cattlo did not command the same attention as at previous sales, and a considerable proportion, was passed in. We quote: Fat ewes, £1; m.s. hoßgets, good, 14s. 6d.; m.s. hoggets, small, 125.: ewes and lambs, all counted, 7s. 6d-; fat cows, £7; springing heifers, £4 106. On behalf, of the Belgian Relief Fund vrc offered six rams, kindly donated by Mr. James ItacKcnzie, Mangatoro, which realised Bs. each.
