MR. FISHER RESIGNS
• OTHER MINISTERS WILL TAKE PORTFOLIOS. The Hon.' F. M. B. Fisher has placed his resignation as a member of the Exeoutive .in the hands ,of the Prime Minister, although it will take him a day or two to clear up matters.in,connection .with the different Departments 0 7er whicli he has recently had con* trcl. ■ ' ■ , 4 'l reoeiyed Mr. Eisner's aresignation," said Mr. Massey to a Dominion reporter, "with a very great deal of regret, and lam certain thait'a very large majority of the people' of the Dominion recognise that - he' has done excellent -work both as a representative of the people and as a Minister of the Crown. I feel certain that the time'is not far distant when he will again be called into the councils .of the Dominion, and I hope also to a Ministerial position. I snould like to add that' Mr. Fisher has held office up to the present day at my special request as there were a number of matters, that required his personal attention,"more particularly m his capacity as Minister- cf Customs." , Mr. Fisher's portfolios will in the meantime be taken over by other members of the Exeoutive. \ • i
