For tho previous year the figures wore:—Births, 140; deaths, 83; marriages, 29. . , • During the year ended Decembor 81, 1014, tho total rainfall recorded in tho Pahiatua district was 44.06' inches. This is tho lowest for sovoral years. In 1911 tho rainfall was 46.27 inches, in 1912, 00.48, and in 1913,. 64.08. Bain fell in 156 days in 1914, as against 163 in 1913, 158 in 1912, and 137 in 1911.' Tho driest rnonth during tho past year was Octobor, whan 1,1(0 inohos was registered, and tho wettest month was May, tho total rainfall being 5.75 inohos. April was tho next wettest period.. Although rain fell on four days in Novonibor., tho downpours wore vory hoavy. Three months, January, March, and October, had each olovon days' rain.
