MISHAPS AT TIMARU MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Timaru, January 2. The second day of the Caledonian sports was favoured by fine, warm weather. There was a large attendance, and all passed off well except for serious mishaps -in the five-mile cycle race. Griffiu came down through the back wheel collapsing. He landed unhurt oil the grass, but in his fall bumped Bonis,' who fell heavily on the track, and was very much out about the shoulder and hip. Later in the same race D. A. Wright came down, and was considerably bruised. Champion events' results are :— :• Cyohng (Ono Milo).—P. O'Shea, 1; P. Griffin, 2; H< Gibson, 3. Nine others started. Time of final, 2min. losec.
