CRICKET
Kelburn Park was the scene of aninteresting .match on Saturday, when the members of J. C. Williamson's Julius Knight Co. met The Dominion Cricket Club, the latter winning by the narrow margin of three runs. It was a. lucky win, and had the Fates been a little.kinder the. theatrical team would have won' comfortably. It wanted ten minutes to go, and the visitors only required four runs to win, with one wicket, to fall when tho last man in was run out through a misunderstanding .with his partner. The game was much enjoyed,''and during the "interval both teams arid their supporters adjuorned to the Kelburn Tea Kiosk for afternoon tea. .
The Dominion, batting first, made 131 for nine wickets, and declared theninnings closed, Binnie 59, Kirinear 17, Chapman 12, and Weston 26 (not out) being the principal scorers. The Julius' Knight team responded with 128. For the losers Lewis put up a very creditable performance, and by fine dashing cricket topped the score with 83. Ratcliffe was the only other member of the team to reach double figures, and he made 29 by forceful cricket.' Lewis was the most successful truridler for the theatrial team, taking seven wickets for 55 rung.
