Tbo body was afterwards recovered. Deceased get out of bis depth. FARMER BREAKS HIS NEOK. v Tlmaru, January 1. Wm.-Patriot, a retired, farmer, aged 70, fell out of . a trap and broke his neck, .on the road near Winchester, yesterday. At the inquest a verdict of accideatal death was returned. > ; . GIRL DROWNED. ' Wanganui, January 1, A fiirl waß drowned, in the river at Kaiwhaike this afternoon. She and two companions \Were bathing and got out of their' depth. Mr. Merry weather dived and rescued the other two of the girls, but the body of the other was not recovered till two hours later. YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED. . \ Nelson, January 1.
