A WELL-DESERVED HONOUR
The honour conferred upon Mr. J. G. Wilson, President of tho Board of Agriculture, which is announced this morning, will meet with universal approval. Me. Wilson, or as he in future will be known Sir James Wilson, has given up a large part of his life to the service of his country. We do not refer so much to the service he has rendered in Parliament and on public bodies as to the time and attention he has devoted to the advancement of our primary industries and through them the advancement of the interests of all classes. To point to this or that achievement to his credit would only faintly indicate the extent of his work. He lias been the moving spirit in so many things, a stimulating influence constantly pointing the way to betterment. -. But above all he has been the foremost and most consistent advocate in the. Dominion of more scientific methods in the production, transport, and marketing of our staple products. His advocacy and activity in these directions have been of incalculable value. Sir James Wilson has been the farmers' best friend and adviser for many years past, and in helping tho farmer he has helped New Zealand along the road to a richer prosperity. We .congratulate Sir James in all sincerity on the welldeserved honour conferred on him by bis Sovereign.
