WELLINGTON CENTRE'S TOURNAMENT. • ' , : The Wellington Centre's annual tournament, always an enjoyable fixture, will commence on the city greens -tomorrow morning, and will be continued in section form on Saturday 3nd Moriday next. Tuesday will be devoted to games between the section winners and ties, and the. finals will be played on the Wellington Club's green on Saturday week, January 9. As far as possible each rink will pley every other rink in the. section, but thegames between section winners and tics will be, decided on the sudden-death principleThree games of 21 heads each.will bo played each day. The first prize will be trophies and certificates for each mem-, ber of the rink and the Tyler Shield (to bo held for a year). .Trophies will also be presented to the winners _of the second place. The club having the rink which scores the highest number of points' in section play will hold tho Gisborne rose bowl for a year. The tournament will bo conducted from the Wellington Club's pavilion, where the secretary (Mr. J. J. Roberts) :will be located. Green umpires, are J reminded to telephone results to the secretary as soon as possible on tho completion of a round.

WANGANUI TOURNEY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' r Wangamil, December 30. The Wanganui Christmas bowling tourney concluded to-day in ideal weather, 1 West End (New Plymouth) winning with Fitzroy (New Plymouth) as runners-up.. Thirty-six teams entered. The tourney was played in four sections. The four somi-finalists we're Wanganui, Terrace End, Fitzroy, and West End. The final between the last two named proved a splendid game, and was keenly contested throughout. The final scores. wore;— West End, 21; Fitzroy, 20. ' ■■ . .'. " ' ,
