The Prime Minister has received tho following message from the High Commissioner:— London, Decembor 27. Pans reports that on tho whole front progress has beenmaintained. Petrograd reports that the Germans -have reoocupied Mlawa. On the Middle Pilica and the lower Nida the battles continue with great obstinacy. On the entire Galician front the struggle is developing under conditions favourable to the Russians. London, Decembor 28. Petrograd reports that the Austrians were driven across the Nida. Both in Galicia and the" Carpathians the onomy is retreating.; Thirteen thousand prisoners and eighteen gun; have been taken. \ •. . , •> London, December .28. ; Paris reports that, .in Belgium tho Allies hro now actually on the-, bottom dunes, where the enemy has,established a line of resistance. :At South Ypres the Germans took part of ,tho trenches near Hollebeke. At Lens"- near Carency, the enemy ceded 800 metres of the first line'of trenches. Slight progress has been made in other parts.- , , London) December 29, 7.35 a.m. Petrograd reports there 'were ■ grave German losses in an abortive attack south-east of Skierniewioe. The enemy ■has evacuated the left bank of the Nida. iPhe dovelonmeut of the fighting on the: Opatowec-Biecz front'is favourable. , Here fifteen' thousand soldiers and forty guns were captured. The enemy is. retreating. precipitately across the Dukla Pass. On the Lisko roads five thousand were taken prisoners.
