HOW THE CUP WAS WON. , (By Itelegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, December 28, The Auckland Trotting Cup was a most interesting event.' Wallace Wood and Steel Bell were the mo3t>favoured 'by the publia, but, Stop It, Jewel Chimes, and Harvey Huon were also well supported. Jewel Chimes was looking very fit, and was going well when an accident put an .end to his chances after going five furlongs. Soon after the competitors lad got into their stride HaTvey Huon went to the front, but Prince Eufus, who was on the limit-mark, kept close to his heels. Harvey Huon was trotting well, but Steel Bell always held a handy position and made a great run when heads were turned for home. The pace proved too much for Harvey Huon, and ne broke when about 75yd9. from the post. Steal Bell then shot to the front, and Prince Eufus took second place, the former winning by about a length and a half. ■ .
