CHRISTMAS TRAFFIC IN WELLINGTON. There was a slight f alling-off _ in the Christmas telegraph business this year, but the volume of work was sufficient to keep a large staff busy throughout the day and night of December 24, when 69,724 telegrams were handled. Fortunately the wires worked well and the ■whole of the work presented on that day was cleared off by 8.46 a.m. on Christmas Day. The total number of ■telegrams dealt with on December 24 last year was 63,497.
