SERIOUS MOTOR-CYCLE MISHAP.
Hastings, December 26. On Thursday wght, whilst' training for to-day's motor-cycle epoTte and while travelling at fifty miles an hour, J. O. Boyde'struck, a hard ridge crossing the track, breaking the fork and releasing the front wheel from the machine. Hβ sustained terrible injuries to his face, and ie still unconscious at a private hospital.. • . . ■ .' ■
JOCKEY INJURED.
Thames, December 26. Mulcahy, a steeplechase rider, was injured while riding in trials. He is out of danger. :
DROWNED IN A DITCH.
Creymoulh, December 27. 'A! oarpenter named William Currie, aged 60, a single man, was found drowned in a ditch at Runanga. on Christmas morning. Deceased had been in town with a friend on Christmas Evo, and the friends' returned together. The companion left deceased, wlm wns not seen after. A verdict of found drowned was returned at tho inquest.
