GIFT TO BRITAIN
BY BRITONS OUTSIDE THE EMPIRE (Reo. December 23, 6.80 p.m.) London, December 22. ■ Lord Selborne, in a letter, points out that Mr. Winston Churchill has approved the proposal that Britons residing outside the Empire should make a gift of a warship to Britain. Mr. Churchill has mentkned a light cruiser, which would cost upwards of £300,000, or a destroyer, which would cost £150,000; and Lord Selborne appeals to the three million Britishers resident in foreign lands to help in the scheme.—("Times" .and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
