Putting to sea again, a succession of heavy galeß was experienced, whilst the scow was being Tilowii along by a westerly gale. On December 15 those on board caught a j glimpse of East Cape again. Another gale drove the boat ninety miles east\vard of the mainland, and it was not until December 19 that the vessel succeeded in beating back. Since' Saturday the Haere made three unsuccessful attempts to proceed north, and wa-B Tinable to obtain an anchorage along the coast. She entered Tolaga yesterday, but was blown, out again, and lost another mainsail, while she narrowly missed going ashore. Urgent signals secured a tug last night, and the scow was towed into Gisborne, where the sails are now being refitted.
