Among the New Zealanders who have lost their lives in the war is SecondLieutenant R. F. M. Gee, of the first battalion, of the Wiltshire Regiment, who was buried at Eastbourne, England, on November 1. The late Lieutenant Gee was a eon of Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Gee, of "Te Wliare," Eastbourne, and formerly of Wellington. He was 20 years of age, and nas educated at the Terrace School, Wellington, and at Eastbourne College: and 1 had entered at Trinity College, Cambridge. In September he was transferred from 1 the Officers' Training Corps to the Wiltshire Regiment. Proceeding to the front, he received a bullet wound in tlie head on October 18 during an action the object of which was tho capture of the village of Hies, near, Lille; and he died in Netloy Hospital on October 27. He was well known in Eastbourne, and the funeral was attended by the Mayor and Deputy-Mayor of the town, the Hon. T. Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand, a number of well-known New Zealandors, as well as residents of Eastbourne, and representatives of the deceased officer's late regiment. Tho burial service was conducted by the Rev. T. G. Kay, formerly of Wellington, the Rev. ,T. Salwey, and the Rov. F. S.
