FINE WEATHER AT LAST Ideal weather conditions made howling a genuine pleasure on Saturday afternoon. For some months past the Saturdays have been marred by furious gales, but there was merely a gentle breeze on Saturday to temper the heat of the sun. Tho greens—none very fast —were still fast enough ■to please the keenest bowler, and every player was '"on the job" on account of the tournament season to take placo. Tliere are no Pennant games to be played until the end of January, so the play consisted of club and inter-club friendly gameß. The results were as follow: — WELLINGTON V. PETONE. An eight-rink match was played between the Wellington and Petone Clubs on Saturday, resulting in a win for the suburban club by a margin of 18 points. The most crushing defeat inflicted on the Wellington Club was the game in which Hay (s.) defeated Brown (s.) by 87 points to 4, -which more than counteracted Duncan's (Wellington) defeat of Wearne (Petone) by 28 points to 10.
