Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited (Palmerston North) -report: At our Palmer-' fiton North sale on Thursday last, wo had a good entry of both Gheep and cattle. Quotations: 2-tooth wethers, 14s. to 14s. At our Mangaweka tale on Thursday last, we have to report having a very fair entry of sheep and cattle; all classes of stock met with a keen competition, and a total clearance was effected at auction at the following prices:—Good 2-tooth wethers, 16s. 2d., 16s. 9d., to 175.; mixed fat sheep, 20s. 7d.;. yearling lieifers, £3;- 3-year heifers, £3, 55., £3 Bs., to £4; 2-year steers, £4 17s„ £4 18s; 6d., to £5 Is.; empty cows, £4 10e. to £4 17s. 6d.; light fat cows and heifers, £6 6s. to £6 12s. 6d.: 3-year steers, to' £7 95.; bulls, to £8; 2 Sriine fat bullocks, sold account Donald tunro, realised £15.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having offered a good entry of all classes, of cattle at their Dannevirko - sale held on Friday last. Prices were rather easier than last sales report, especially store cows and fat cattle; tho continued dry weather and bush Ares, in different parts of the district being responsible for same. A fairly good clearance was effected, however, at the following list of priceo:—Yearling steers, small 305., ditto heifers 31s. to £2 65.; Holstein, 15 months heifers £3 55., 15 months .steers £3 ss» 6d. to £3 Bs. 6d„ 2-year steers to £4 12s. 6d., well-grown 2-year off steers to £5 7si 6d., 3-year steers £6 Ze.. to £7 18s. 6d.. eood forward bullocks to £8 195.. Gilraour'fl clearing sale, TJmataroroa. which was held on Tuesday last the 15th instant, the firm report as follows:—The' bulk of stock offered came forward in good, condition, but there was only a limited inquiry for cows and heifers in milk, and tlie sale was of a very dragging nature throughout. A fairly large nuantity of implements and sundries realised tho usual clearing sale prices. Tho following are some of the prices realised: —Young cow 6 in full profit £6 10s. to £7 7s. 6d.;-ditto in -milk some time. £4 10s. to £5 155.; springing heifers, £3 10e. to £5 17s. 6d.; grade. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report:—We held our usual monthly-sale'at Pongaroa on Thursday, when.; we submitted a good yarding of cattle- to vthe usual attendance of buyers. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Eketahuna ,on Friday, w©l submitted a fair yarding of sheep, and a good one of cattle. Competition fo .rsheep was fairly animated, but cattle met' with a dull sale. Aged ■ ewes and lambs (all counted) made 6s. lid. to 75.2-tooth wethers. 135.; empty heifers, £3 10s.; empty .cows, £S 7s. 6d.
