NEW HOSPITAL' OPENED. (By Tdetrraph.—Press Association,) Glsborne, December 19. His Excellency the Governor paid his first official visit to Gisbome to-day, accompanied by, the Countess of LivcrEool, and was accorded a civic welcome. ioyal addresses wore presented by Europeans and Maoris. His Excellency, in reply, said lie had not had an opportunity to speak in public for some time. He desired to thank New Zealandors for the men they were sending to the war to help the Old Country in the time of need. The Expeditionary Forces sent away were the greatest honour,to tlio country to which they belonged. Como what may, good or ill, they were going to see the war through to the end, and como out on top. This afternoon His Excollency opened Gisborne's new hospital, which has boen erected at a cost of £70,000.
