t ■ DISPOSITION OF RELIEF FUND.. 7 . A winding-up meeting of the committeo which has been administering' tho Upper Hutt Explosion Relief Fund was ,: hold in tho Mayor's room yesterday afternoon, Mr. J. P. Luke presiding. Tho treasurer (Mr. C. Collins) reported that tho total amount received from all sources was £1454 10s. 2d; Out of - that amount, the sum of £43 19s. Cd.r had been disbursed in the payment of funeral expenses (in four cases) and re-: ' lief for the families in distress, leav-' ' mg a balance of £1110 10s. Bd. • ; . v . • It was decided to hand that amount:. over to the Public Trustee, who had! : ; kindly offered to administer .the fund free of charge and at the same time to' '■ credit the fund with interest at the rate- '■■■« of 4 J per cent, per annum, so long "as; any of the moneys remained. ', -The,.i whole of the sum mentioned is to be;., disbursed among the beneficiaries with-.';' in a term of five years fronv date. The ]■ Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke), '• the Mayor of Miramar (Mr.' F. Townsend), Mr. P. J. O'Regan, and Dr., Kemp were appointed, a sub-committee("»', to terminate the business of the general, committee and to hand over the money, ' to the Public Trustee.
