Instruction is also given in typewriting and shorthand; The results gainod .by pupils of the college in accountancy, law, bookkeping, Public Service, and entrance'-- university- examinations havo been uniformly excellent, and the proprietors of the college, : Messrs. H. Amos H.'H. Cornish, by'adding to their staff, hope to, secure, even better results. A. branchiof tlio college, which was begun only last year, and has met with exceptional suoccsb, is a seooudary and a primary/day'school for boys. In the secondary .'department of thia school pupils are prepared for the university, Australasian military and naval, Sandhurst, Osborne, Cambridge, and Oxford entrance' examinations. ' Tho following new teachers aro joining the staff at the beginning of next year, Mr. T. S. Atkinson, a highly-certificated teacher, who has been for some'time in charge of tho secondary classes of the Hastings Di3triot High School; Mr.. J. W. Russell, also a certificated teacher, will havo charge of the primary division, and will be assisted'by Miss Dixon, who will take charge of the youngest boys. The staff in the commercial department has been still further strengthened by tho appointment of Mr. B. L. Enting, a gentleman who has passed the.final accountancy examination, and who has also had teaching' experience. Banks's Collego, which will, from February of next year, bo situated at the corner of Wellington Terrace ■ and Woodward Street, will ocupy twelve largo and sunny rooms. The number of toacherß employed on tho staff is 16, tho num. ber- of active students on the roll being 617. All who are interested in the college are invitod to see the director, Mr H. Amos, who can be consulted up till December 24 and after January i at his old rooms, 11 Grey Street. -
