When tho last municipal electors'. roll was prepared in April last it contained 40,787 names, and theTewas a good deal of criticism forthcoming aB to whether such.a large number could be valid voters. In view of the doubt that did arise it is interesting to compare the numbers with those registered on the electoral rolls for the general elections. The numbers on theso rolls were as follow:— Wellington North 9,837 Wellington Central 9,541 Wellington Eaet 9,570 Wellington South 8,925 Wellington Suburbs 7,999 Total 45,872 If the number on the Wellington Suburbs roll is deducted the number stands at 37,873, but as a proportion of those included on the Wellington Suburbs roll—residents of Kilbirnie, Maranui, and Mand Bay—should be included in the municipal roll, it will bo the numbers on both rolls practii illy correspond, which endorses the accuracy of the city electors' roll.
