ESCAPE OF LIONS
. DURING'A PERFORMANCE. ByTeloeropl—Press Assooifttdon—Copyright New York, December 17. Fire lions escaped from an EightySixth Street theatre during a performance. Tho audience instantly became panic-stricken. The police opened a revolver fusillade amidst the crowd, killing one lion and wounding a policeman seriously. The lions then attacked the police, clawing several badly. Afterwards tho animals fled to different parts of tlvs building, and ono escaped into tlu street and knocked down a ' photographor, named Tooman, who was running from another lion inside a. photographic gallery over tho theatre. •All tho lions wore finally rounded up and snot.
