CONSTABLE ST. TRAM
THE EXTENSION. The City Counoil decided last evening th3t application sTJouTd be made for an°Order-in-Council authorising theconstruotion of the Constable Street tramway extension; and resolved, also, that £10,000 should be loaned by the district fund account to tho tramway account, to be used together with' the tramway eurplue in constructing the line. ; The Mayor said that this work was one of the most pressing needs of the city, and the congestion in the Hataitai tunnel made it absolutely necessary that relief should be provided at once.
