Among those saved from H.M.S. Hawko, which was torpedoed by a German submarine, is Sydney Austin, who is surely .experiencing all the vicissitudes of war. Austin, who wears a medal 'for war service, was detailed as boatswain to the Hogue on August 14. He was one of the few who eucaped when she was sunk on September 22, and he was promptly detailed to aot as boatswain on the Hawko. Now she is sunk and again he is saved.
