TWO NEW CLAN BOATS. "Fairplay," an English shipping journal, gives tno following particulars regarding two new steamers which hare been launched recently for the Clan Lino of steamers, for wham Mr. 0. H. Scales is the locil agent:— Clan Itoss.—ln September, Messrs. Swan, Hunter and Wighani Richardson, Ltd., launched from their Wnllsend shipyard this steamer for Messrs. Cayzer, Irvine and Co.'e Olaa Line Steamers Ltd., Glasgow. She has now been completed ana delivered to her owners after a successful trial run at, sea. She is a fine type of a iiretrclaes cargo liner, built with a cruiser stern, and is 445 ft. long over all, 54ft. broad, and 52ft. moulded dcftth. The triple-expansion engines and the boilers were built at tho Neptune Works of the .builders. During the trial trip the owners were represented by tlicir superintendent engineer, Mr. Grant.

Clan Ogilvy.—Messrs. 'William Doxford and Sons, Ltd., Pallion, Sunderland, launched this 'Uveen-deck steamer for the Clan Lino Steamers, Ltd. (Mesers. Cayzer, Irvine and Co., Ltd.), Glasgow. Length, 444 ft.; breadth, 545 ft.; moulded depth, 32ft.; d.w. capacity, 8900 tons. During construction she has been superintended by Jtr. T. Ambler, on behalf of the owners. The engines &n'3 boilers wero supplied by Messrs. Doxford, and the classification is with British Corporation. The christening was performed by Mrs. Arthur Cayzer, October 20. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP.
