CORRESPONDENCE WITH THOSE ■ INTERNED ABROAD. ' The following directions to. be observed in correspondence with British prisoners of war interned abroad are lurnished by the Postal Department— A letter intended for a prisoner of war interned abroad should be placed m an unsealed envelope addressed te tho prisoner's name, initials, rank and etc., thus: — ' Corporal E.J. Smith. No. 4621, 2nd Battalion Middlesex Regiment "■ British Prisoner of War" ' Germany, .-'...' - (or Holland) Ti v' u ±-l- , (or Austria) It should then be placed in another outer sealed envelope addressed:— For British Prisoner of War, . Interned iii Germany,. (Holland or Austria) Care General Post Office, Mount Pleasant, London, E.G. Letters may he written in English. Correspondence should bo ~ limited to private and family neiys, and to necessary business communications. No references to the naval, military, or political situation, or to naval and! military movements, will be permitted. Letters containing such references will be Te-i turned to senders. As correspondeuce must be submitted to censorship on arrival, short communications not exceeding two sides of a sheet of note paper will probably be delivered more 6peedily than long lot- . ters. Postage need not be paid either on letters or parcels addressed to British Prisoners of War, and letters may be registered or insured, and parcels insured w'thout charge. . The transmission of coin in letters or parcels if) forbidden. Parcels should be addressed ae follows: — (Name, rank, nnd unit) • British Prisoner of War, Interned in Germany, , (or Holland) (or Austria) Care General Post Office, Mount Pleasant, London, E.C.
