The Germans determinedly attacked Dickebiosch and the French defences at Saint Loi, but were checked'by a\heavy rifle fire. They repeatedly reformed and resumed the aggressive, with heavy- losseis. Reinforced, they made further ruslies, and took cover behind the heaps of thieir own dead. The French mitrailleuses and rifles continued to decimate thieir ranks, but the advance continued, until fighting was at close quarters. 'Phe French.lino of trenches was captured.. The French were then reinforced, their 3in. guns'quickly shelling the ground preparatory to recapturing the lme by several brilliant rushes, and harassing the enemy, whose ranks were iilready depleted and exhausted,..', They yielded, to four rapidly-delivered attacks.
