WAEEIMOO DELAYED BY BAD WEATHER.

The Warrinioo, which was due to arrive hero from Hohart, via way ports, yesterday, has been delayed in the south by bad wether. Consequently she will' not arrive here until to-morrow moraine;. She sails for Hobart and Melbourne et 5 p.m. the samo day. MAITAI DUE NEW YEAR'S EVE. According to advices received by the local office of the Union Company tho mail steamer Maitai left San Francisco for Wellington on Wodnesday, December 9 —schedule date. She is due at Papeete en December 21, Borotonga on Christmas Eve, and Welington Now Year's Eve. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. E. A. Burbury, wireless operator on the Arahura, has been succeoded by Mr.' B. Ferafngor. Mr. A. M'Lellan, chief officer of tho Arahura, has signed off that vessel's articles In order to take up the position of actingassistant wharfinger for the Union Company at Westport. Mr. H. Hogan ,lato of tho Coiinna, has joined the Arahura, es chief officer, and Mr. W. Easter, has joined the eam<r -vessel as third officer. Mr. C. S. Eichardson, fifth engineer of tho Maori, has come ashore at Wellington. Mr. P. Eiddell has. joinod her as seventh engineer. Nearly twonty officers have already signed . off the Union Company's steamer in order to volunteer for active service with the Allies. This week the following officers were granted leave of absence to join the Expeditionary Forces:— Mr. L. W. Bell, tlrkd officer of the Walpori; Mr. D. O'Hara, third officer of the Kauri; Mr. H. E. Parker, third officer of tho Karori: Mr. E. Doolan, second officer of the Karori; and Mr. A. M. Langlands, third officer of the Mokoia. Arrangements have been made .'by the Union Company to allow these volunteers to resume their seagoing ocupations on their return from tho war. The Corinna, due from New Plymouth tomorrow, will tranship the following lines of cargo to tht Turaklna for London.--11,752 boxes butter, 5567 crates cheese, 100 carcasses mutton, 5 tons boneless beef. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company's mail steamer Turakina, which arrived at Wellington from Napier on Saturday, will bo dispatched for London on Thursday, December 17. On account of having been delayed at Melbourne the HuddortParkor steamer Wimmera will not arrive at Wellington from Hobart till Sunday, 'December 20. Instead of leaving here on December 19 she will bo dispatched for southern ports. Hobart, and Melbourne, on Monday, December 21. Having' left Sydney last Thursday, in continuation of her journey from London to Auckland, Napier, and Wellington, the C. and D. liner "Indrapura should arrive at Wellington on December 23. The Scales chartered steamer Messina is expected to get away from Wellington for London to-morrow. Oiptain J. Anderson, her master, visited Wellington about tw<years ago in the Panaroa. The Messina has, a Chinese crew. This week's direct boat from Hobart and Sydney—tho Ulimaroa—cleared the latter port for Wellington, at 1 p.m. on Friday. She ha 6 330 passengers for New Zealand ports, as well as 625 tons of cargo for Wellington. The Ulimaroa should arrive in port early to-morrow morning.
