WELLINGTON TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Tlio engineering classes at the Technical College w<jund up the 1914' ses- 1 sion with a very enjoyable social held in the Main Hall at tho College on ' "Wednesday - evening. Arrangements, were made by a committee of the students, consisting- of Messrs. Goer, A. ' D. Mac Donald, and Crane, and the' 1 tables were set out and supper supplied 1 by Mrs. Oscar Johnstone. The chairman of the Technical Education Board, 1 Mr. D. Robertson, presided,, and was supported by • Mr. J. Marohbanks, chairman of the Engineering Board of Control, and Mr, T. R. Wallace. The director, and the instructors, Messrs. M'Vicar, Earnshaw, and Graham} were also present. A valuable prize, presented by Mr. T. R. Wallace, was won by Mr. A. G. Wilson for the most advanced work done during the year. Prize certificates were presented by the chairman, in lieu of the usual school prizes, the, students having decided that the amount of tho prizes should go to the Belgian Relief Fund. Short addreses were given by the chairman, Mr. Marchbanks, Mr. T. R. Wallace, and the staff. Musical items were contributed by Mr. W. Butcher. A number of prizes, consisting of reference works in enginering wero given by Messrs. M'Vicar and Eamsnaw to those boys who are. leaving the Day Technical School to enter on their apprenticeship this Christmas.
