POLL EARLY!
Electors will study their own convenience and facilitate the work of the electoral officials by going to the poll early. The polling-places are listed in our . news columns, where also trio methods of voting are described. These aro very simple. in the case of Parliamentary election the voter strikes out, on the ballot-paper, the namo or names of the candidate ■ or. candidates for whom he docs not wish to vole. Similarly, in the licensing poll, tho method is to strike out tho alternatives for which electors do not wish to vote. Provision has been made to onable qualified voters, whose names havo been inadvertently omitted froin the rolls, to_ record their votes. The conditions are that they must have been enrolled and havo voted at last election, and' must be still resident in the district in which they were then enrolled. Theso conditions being satisfied they arc' entitled to vote on making a declaration before tho Returning Officer. There is reason to believe I that the names off • a number of foreigners who arc not naturalised British subjects and other persons, particularly seamen and flaxmillers, have been placed on certain of the rolls illegally. A sharp scrutiny will be kept to detect cases of this particularly_ in Wellington Contrail where scrutineer!* bavo be«n LsDccially. chosen for that purpose./
