Rifle shooting formed one of the subjects for dispussion at a meeting of the Karori Borough Council hold last evoiir ing.' The Mayor (Mr, W.' T. Hildreth) reported that a number of those interested in the formation of a-' rifle range for the district had inspected several sites, and one had been selected. The site was reported to be one of the best of its kind in the district, and, from inqujries made and' measurements taken, it had been ascertained that, provided the owner's.permission, could be .obtained, ranges from 200 to 600 yards could be formed. On the suggestion of the Mayor, a committee, consisting of the Mayor,' Councillors SUegg, Boys, and Ciininp, and the borough enr gineer, was sot up-to go fully into the whole gitestion of acquiring the; land, etc., and to report at the next mee'ting of the council. . During the course qf the discussion it was suggested that the Karori Rifle .Club should take charge of the Tange, or lease it from the council when the whole matter is fixed up.
