HIS MAJESTY'S THEATEE. The present excellent bill at His Majesty's: deserves to attract large audiences. A fright and merry first part is provided'by the versatile "Magpies," and in the second half Bert Te Blano, Carrie Moore, Ywaxy, Brown and Sorlie, and Herman and Shirley provide turns that are highly entertaining. • Last evening Charles Bartholomew, "the Dublin Uandy," made a pleasing impression in humorous songs r-nd stories. Mr. Walter Fuller has arranged te announce the election results from the Btage to-morrow evening. THE KING'S THEATRE. "Home, Sweet Home," in 6000 ft. of film, is proving a big attraction at the King's Theatre this week. In shaping the subject for the kinematograph, Mr. D, W. Griffith set out to.demonstrate the' world-wido influence of the song for good. Ho has succeeded beyond any doubt, and has placed before the public an appealing photo-drama, mounted and acted in the very best possible style. As an introduction, the film illustrates the ,romantic lifestory of John Howard Payne, composer of the song. Some choice supporting pictures fill out the programme, which ' includes the usual budget of news from the seat of war. Appropriate music is supplied by the.King'a popular orchestra, under the direction Of Signor A. P. Truda. .' EVERYBODY'S PICTURES. There, were large attendances at the various sessions of Everybody's Pictures in Manners Streot yesterday. The current programme contains some capital war pictures, notably "The Evacuation of Ghent and Ostend." A good idea of the strength of Hie British Navy is to be gained from the film entitled "Our First Line of Defence." Two interesting dramas are "From the Land- of the Shadows" and ''The Kiss," while the oomio side of kinematography is illustrated by "She made Herself Beautiful" and "The Substitute for Pante," , Musio accompaniments are played by an orchestra at both afternoon and evening sessions. PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE. "At the Mercy of the Niagara" is the title'of tho feature photo-play at the popular People's Picture Palace. The story is an uncommonly good one, having, a dramatic interest that holds tho attention from first to last. There are also some excellent war pictures' of sights and Bcenes on tho battlefields of Europe. A new picture, entitled "Among the Clouds;" is to be presented to-morrow. THE EMPRESS THEATRE. The concluding sessions of the current programme of the Empress Theatre continuous pictures, headed by "Animated History of the War "to' Date," orb announced for to-aay and to-night. The unwinding of the "star" film occupies about an hour,''and is. highly instructive and .interesting throughout.' "Down With the Huns" (Eclair war special No. (3) also contains much up-to-date matter.in connection with the war. There are several other supplementary films.
