MODERATE LEAGUE MEETING

AN UNEXPECTED ENDING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wanganul, December 7. A meeting of the Moderate League had an unexpected ending this evening. After a number of gentlemen had spoken against Prohibition, and the necessity for the Moderate League's existence in order to bring about needed reforms, a member of the ■ audience moved: "That this meeting pledges itself in tlio interests of Now Zealand to do everything possible to carry NoLicense and National Prohibition at the forthcoming poll." The motion was carried by about fifty to fifteen.
