I SPLENDID RECEPTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) • Timartii December 5. The Hon. James Allen delivered an address here on Saturday night before an audience of 900 people. He was given a very enthusiastic reception on appearing on the platform, and during a two-hour address was frequently applauded in a manner which indicated that he had the sympathy of the audience. He replied pretty fully to mis•representations by his political opponents and said it was nothing short of a scandal 'ihat Mr. Massey should be charged with corruption because of tte branch railway which was ■ surveyed through a small, portion of the Ostrich Farm in which lie was interested. The Minister contended that the Reform Party had discharged their duty since they had come into' power in a manner which had earned the confidence-of the people, while the refonns they 'had instituted had met with the people's appreciation. This being so he appealed confidently to the whole Dominion to'support them again at the polls ,on Thursday next. Tho Minister was accorded a heartj vote of."thanks for what was generally considered to bo a very- able address. A vote of confidence in his Government was also passed and the meeting closed with cheers for Mr. Massey,
