TRAPPED GERMAN CORPS ENORMOUS LOSSES SUFFERED BY ENEMY (Rec. December 6, 8.45 p.m.) London, December 5. Official.—Obstinate fighting was continued on Thursday, between Glowno and Lowicz, north of Lodz. • .. (Reo. December 6, 5.5 p.m.) Moscow, December 5. The papers claim that only a mere remnant of the vwo trapped German Army Corps near Lodz broke through to Bresiny, twelve miles to the east. Ninety per cent, of the officers suffered casualties and some regiments were reduced to a few hundreds. 1 London, December 4. (Bee., December 6, 5.20 p.m.) . London, December 5. 'A German officer captured at. Lodz said: "We believed in our technical superiority and had been told that the' Russian Army was weak. We foundit the most powerful in the world. Assuming that everything remained favourable, the Germans would not soon be conquered; but matters may quiokly, become critical if our generals contjnue accusing each other of failure; then the strength of Russia the Bangfroid and perseverance of Britain and the Belfsaorifice of France will destroy us."—("Times" and Sydney, "Sim" Services.) RUSSIAN. MOTOR CORPS r AT tWORK. (Rec. December 6, 9.50 p.m.) [ Petrograd, December 6. Oflioial.—Stubborn fighting continues at Lowicz and Lodz, and towards Piotrkow. During the fighting on Deoembar '4, a Russian armoured motor Corps, near Lask, which was taking advantage of the darkness, ran into a considerable German column, and with their maxims inflicted heavy losses.
