During the evening the Mayoress, Mrs. Luke, presented the ladies' silver cup to the winner for the year, Sergeant Gray, after which Lieutenant Ninimo, O.C, addressed those present, thanking them for their support to the company's first Christmas camp, and ' emphasised the importance of the senior cadet movement. He said that never since the inauguration of the present New Zealand Territorial scheme was the senior cadot 'movement of greater importance than at the present moment, as the.senior cadet parade ground is the recruiting base for the Territorials.
