EDWARD NEWMAN THE REFORM CANDIDATE FOR RANGITIREI first elected to. Parliament in 1908 as Member for Manawatu. In 1911 Mr. Newman was again elected, tha name of his constituency having been cbanged to Bangitikei. Prior to.entering Parliament Mr. Newman had a wide experience in local government work, and was for many years a member of the Rangitikei County Council. He also sat on the Wanganni Hospital and Charitable Aid Boa T d of which he was Chairman for a time, and on the Wanganui Education Board. MR. NEWMAN has always been a Btrong supporter of the Reform Party, and has also taken a leading part in the movement for assisting tho development of .the Dominion by the extension of agricultural education and improved farming methods. He was Chairman of the Lands Committee in the last Parliament, and was a member of the Defence, Finance, and other Committees.
