HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The leading attraction at His Majesty** Theatre this week is the turn by "The Magpies," a talented costume comedy company of seven versatile entertainers. They All in the whole of the first part of the programme, while clever performers in vaudeville supply the turns in the second half. There wall be a matinee to-morrow. KING'S THEATRE. The ourrent wook's programme at the King's Theatre has attracted Inrge houses to that • popular place of amusemont. There is an excellent war picture called "The Battle of Lebbeke," In which all the horror and glory of waT are shown. Both the German and the gallant Belgian armies are to be seen going into action. There is also a largo variety of supporting films. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. Maurlco Costello, the Vitagraph Company's famous star actor, takes the leading part in "Her Big Scoop," a picture which is drawing big business for the management at Everybody's Theatre. The supporting films ere a capital lot, including a rattling Keystone comedy, entitled "Face on the Bar-room Floor.' THE EMPRESS THEATRE. "What a Woman Will Do," the r <rtar film, was shown at the Empress Theayesterday. The plot has already been given, and it gives scope for a series of interesting pictures. The minor films include: "Topical War Budget" (latest news from Belgium), "From Paris to the Sea" (travel), "German Vandals' Prey" (scenic), "Widow Muggins's Wedding -1 * (comedy), pnd "Ma and Pa Play Poker" (farce-comedy). MACMAHON'S NEW THEATRE. It was originally intended that the great American battle picture, "The Battle. Hymn of the Republic," would be shown at MacMahon'B New Theatre on Tuesday next. On account of the arrival of R.M.S. Marama from San Francisco yesterday, the film has come to band earlier than expected, consequently it was produced at the New Theatre for the first time last evening. A complete ohango of supporting films is announced for to-day, when the three-act drama, "The Mystery of the Black Domino," will be shown. Other pictures will bo "A Woman's Honor" (dramatic), and several good comedies. PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE. "The Nightwitehman's Daughter," a strong dramatic study, was the leading feature of the complete change of programme at the People's. Picture Palace yesterday. The story is full of interest from beginning to end, and the plot is sustained throughout. There is a strong love theme running through the piece, in wjiich the hero and heroine have some startling experiences. There was also a rattling good comedy "Adventures of a Tired Tramp" which caused endless merriment. The supporting pictures were also good. "BUNTY PULLS THE STRINGS." "Bunty Pulls the Strings" will take its farewell of New Zealand, with a brief teturn season of four nights at the Grand Opera House, commencing next Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Moffat and their brilliant company of Scot tish players leave Wellington by the Warrimoo for Hobart on the Saturday, where they give two performances and thence to Adelaide,-via Melbourne, opening the Adelaide season on Boxing Night. "BuntyV' tour through New Zealand has been a triumph for all concerned. The box plans open at the Dresden on Monday morning. ' -
