"Every man his own landlord" is still one of the main planks in the Reform Party's platform, and this has been given effect to in the extension of tho right of purchase to Crown and land for settlement tenants.- It is satisfactory to know that over 1400 of these tenants liavo already oxercised tliia right, and a- sum of £237,000 has in consequence been paid into "the Lands for SeMlomcnt Account, which will bo utilised for the purchase of more lnrgo estate's-for close settlement. Surely tils public,-will realise that this is a sounder system of finance than that adopted b.v previous Governments of the proceeds from sales of Crown- lands ns ordinary revenue, and borrowing indefinitely fur the purchase of largo es-' tates to cut. up.—Mr. I&lward, Newmail, Reform candidate for Rangitikei, at Newbur.v. • 1
