DEATH OF GAUDIN
A VERDICT OF SUICIDE. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) Auckland, December 1. The inquest on Albon George Gaudin, who on A'ovember 14 shot his wife and then committed suicide, was resumed to-<lay. .Airs. Gaudin, in her evidence, said that for three years 6he and her husband lived unhappily.. Consequently she decided to leave him. She returned, taking their child with her, to get some clothing.,- She rang the door bell, and explained to Jier husband what sho had come lor. The husband said, "All right, come in." She was collecting the clothing and whistling as she did so. She could not say why she was whistling. She asked her husband if some, wrapping paper she wanted was of any use to him. He didn't answer, but fired seven shots at her. One went through her hand, one through her arm, and a third entered just below her heart. She ran out of the house scream,n S- , Other evidence was to the effect that Gaudin was found dead in the doorway in a pool of blood, with a. revolver in his right hand. The Coroner returned a verdict of suicide.
