A French captain who was in hospital nt Met-z, writing to the journal "La Patrie," "narrates that the Kaiser ,visited the French wounded, and said: "I give my Imperial homage to your valour. Notwithstanding the cruel cirviiinstances at the present time, I do not despair of olio day seeing Germany' and France united'-in the ties of sincere 'friendship.". '.

FOOTBALL'NEWS IN WAR-TIME. (Reo; Nov-mber 29, 3.30 p.m.) ' ' London, November 28. The London dailies have .agreed not to publish football news, exccept the mare results:-'
TRADING WITH THE ENEMY. •• ■ Brisbane, November 28.' The • firm of Zoeller Company was fined £100 for attempting to trado -with the enemy during the war. For the defence it -was stated that the firm sent an order to a Stockholm company for German medical instruments, and claimed that it had innocently committed an error of jiidgment. PARTLY BURNED AND BLOODSTAINED BANKNOTES. Paris, November 27. " Swiss banks on behalf of Germans are attempting to cash in Paris millions of francs 1 worth of_ banknotes pillaged or taken as: indemnities.- Many are partly burned or bloodstained. The French banks are refusing to cash them.
GERMANS SEIZE LUGGAGE, Amsterdam, November 26. All'luggage belonging to subjects of hostile States deposited with the German Customs and military depote has been seized by the authorities.
