Y.M.C.A. CONCERTS IN CAMP
The men in the remount department stationed, at the Upper Hutt were entertained by a party of vocalists and elocutionists from town last week. Arrangements wore made by Mr. Varney, general secretary of tho Y.M.C.A., and a-'thoroughly enjoyable, evening resulted, every item being enthusiastically encored. Tho party included Misses 13. Driscoll, Ct. AYafkins, Z. Hugo, E. Lissack, Mario Fix, and Messrs. Allriglit, Laslett, Exton, AV. Goudie, Frank Wright, and W. Jennings. Messrs. Varney and A. Jameson, SLA., national Y.M.G.A. secretary, accompanied the party. Messrs. Alex, and James Smith kindly provided motor-cars for the party, their assistance in this direction being much appreciates!. Other concert parties liavo .already been arranged by M.r Varney, who seeks tho co-operation of all who liavo motor-cars, tho train service' not being suitable. Three cars are required for the Upper Hutt next Thursday, and three for the following week for Trentham. Those desirous of assisting in this direction are invited to 'phono 1827.
