GERMAN LEASES IN CHANNEL ISLANDS ; (Rec. November 26. 5.45 D.m.) London, November 25.. The "Times," in a leading article, commenting on the British occupation of Herm.lsland, in'the Channel Island Group, says: —"We oust German com.panics from islands in the Persian Gulf, 'and give them Crown leases in the heart of the English Channel, within sight of the coast of France, seventy miles from Portland, and forty miles from Cherbourg, for £14 a year!" :
